Lana Tsanava
Lana Tsanava’s long-standing academic and professional career is distinguished both by her high-level experience in public administration and her active scholarly and educational work at universities and research centres. She holds a Ph.D. in Constitutional Law from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Her research interests include issues of constitutional interpretation, the balance of powers within semi-presidential systems, the constitutional foundations of government status and responsibility, regionalism as a form of state organization, as well as personal data protection and standards of transparency in administrative law. Lana Tsanava is the author of more than 15 research articles and the co-author of several major university textbooks, including Introduction to the Constitutional Law of Georgia (2019) and Constitutionalism - A General Introduction, Book II (2020). Her monograph, Principles of Government Responsibility and the Practice of Constitutionalism (2020), represents a significant study of the constitutional architecture of political accountability. Alongside her academic work, Lana Tsanava has been employed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia since 2012 and has served as Director of the Legal Department since 2021. Her professional field is closely connected with research activities, lawmaking, and high-quality legal analysis. She actively participates in international trainings and conferences, is a member of the Davit Batonishvili Institute of Law, and has taught constitutional and public law at various higher education institutions for many years.
